Tatsuya Oishi


Tatsuya Oishi has been managing international business for the majority of his 20-year career. After a three-year training period at Idemitsu Kosan, Co., Ltd., Japan's largest marketer of lubricants, Tatsuya began coordinating export/import and managing Australia and the Middle East sections for Idemitsu's Overseas Lubricants Section. From there he moved to a position as a marketing advisor for Idemitsu's Korean distributor. After returning to the overseas section where he was again responsible for sales in the Middle East and Australia as well as the rest of Asia, he moved to Ultraline Petroleum Pte Ltd., in Singapore, Idemitsu's Joint Venture partner. There he managed all the sales efforts for the company. In 1993 he transfered to Idemitsu International (Asia) Pte., Ltd., also in Singapore where he became responsible for developing markets in Southeast Asia and India. In 1995 Tatsuya was given responsibility for North America, Europe, Australia and the Middle East for the Overseas Section of Idemitsu's head office. Then in 2000, he became the Vice President and & General Manager of Administration at Apollo America Corporation, Idemitsu's Subsidiary in the United States.

In 2002, Tatsuya took the bold step of striking out on his own. He carved out a business as a business consultant in Japan. In 2004, he founded Focus Business Produce, Inc. to represent and consult companies that look to enter the Japanese market. In spring of 2004, Focus Business Produce, Inc. entered an agreement to work together with The Engler Group, a United States manufacturers representative firm in order to offer manufacturers on both sides of the Pacific an avenue to pursue sales in offshore markets. Tatsuya Oishi is currently the General Manager of the Tokyo Branch Office of The Engler Group.

Tatsuya graduated from Osaka University of Foreign Studies with a degree in Arabic and also holds a certificate in U.S. - Japan relations from Harvard University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant. Tatsuya lives near Tokyo in Saitama, Japan, with his wife Yumiko.
